100km + time trial Cycle Course Notes

Starting and finishing at St Ives Showground, this ride takes you north along Mona Vale Road, through Terrey Hills and down McCarrs Creek Road before diving into Akuna Bay via General San Martin Drive. After a loop around d'Albora Marina, there's a 3km climb up to West Head Road, where you'll turn left and ride all the way to the end — the lookout over Pittwater and Palm Beach is well worth stopping for.

From the water station at the top of the climb, the next 10km back to McCarrs Creek Road is an optional 10km time trial for the sprinters, shared with our 60km riders.

At McCarrs Creek Road, the 100km route turns left and heads down through Bayview to Bayview Golf Course, before turning around and retracing the route back through Bayview and up McCarrs Creek Road to West Head Road. From here, riders turn right and climb before turning left to drop back down into Akuna Bay for a second pass around d'Albora Marina and the climb back out towards Terrey Hills. This time, at Terrey Hills, the route turns onto Booralie Road, passing Terrey Hills Golf & Country Club all the way out to Duffys Forest, before turning back. The final stretch heads back through Terrey Hills, under Mona Vale Road via the cycle tunnel, and home via Kitchener to St Ives Showground.

This is a challenging course with multiple climbs, best suited to experienced riders who are comfortable riding 100km in a single ride.

60km Cycle Course Notes

Starting and finishing at St Ives Showground, this ride heads north along Mona Vale Road and McCarrs Creek Road before dropping down into Akuna Bay via General San Martin Drive. After a loop around d'Albora Marina, riders climb back out and turn left onto West Head Road, riding all the way to the end — don't miss the spectacular lookout over Pittwater and Palm Beach.

An aid station awaits at Resolute Bay on the return leg. From there, the next 10km back towards McCarrs Creek Road is an optional time trial for the sprinters, shared with our 100km riders. At McCarrs Creek Road, the 60km route turns right, heading back up through Terrey Hills, under Mona Vale Road via the cycle tunnel, and home to St Ives Showground via Kitchener.

This course includes several solid climbs and is recommended for riders with some distance and hill-climbing experience under their belt.

35km 'social' Cycle Course Notes

Starting and finishing at St Ives Showground, this ride heads north along Mona Vale Road through Terrey Hills to the top of McCarrs Creek Road, before dropping down General San Martin Drive into Akuna Bay. Riders loop around the outside of d'Albora Marina before a climb back up to West Head Road, then descend onto McCarrs Creek Road for another climb back to Terrey Hills. The course passes back under Mona Vale Road via the cycle tunnel, heads south, then loops via Kitchener before turning safely back into St Ives Showground for the finish.

A great option for riders after a shorter taste of Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park's climbs and descents.
