Powered by the industry, The Foundation builds homes for homeless youth and provides ongoing support for homes where young people can rebuild their lives.

The Property Industry Foundation leads an industry-wide collaboration that has a tangible impact on youth homelessness by raising funds, building accommodation, and providing ongoing support for homes where young people can live safely. It brings together the property and construction industry to build homes for homeless youth through
The Foundation’s flagship home building program – The Haven Project. The Foundation fundraises to build each Haven House. Each $1 raised is then matched with in-kind donations of skills, labour and goods from the property and construction industry. This unique partnership doubles the value of every $1 donated.
The Foundation has been building and refurbishing homes for homeless youth since 1996 and aims to build 300 bedrooms for homeless youth by 2025.

Providing vulnerable young people with a place to live that's not just safe, but also homely, can contribute to an invaluable improvement in their sense of self. As the creator of homes and communities, our industry can and should play a role in addressing youth homelessness. We work collaboratively with other charities to break the cycle of youth homelessness and changing lives for the better.
We fund initiatives that lead to systemic change
The Property Industry Foundation knows that to end youth homelessness will require wholescale change. That is why the Foundation has moved to putting 20% of our capital, time and energy into supporting initiatives that bring about systemic change.
This kind of approach requires the Foundation to look at the system as a whole and support initiatives and programs that seek to redesign the homeless youth system to get a better result for our vulnerable youth.
