Our amazing Victoria supporters are tuning up their bikes for the Melbourne Tour de PIF on Friday 14 November in Healesville. We’re delighted to welcome GPT as our Principal Partner again this year. Our ongoing partnership with GPT and the property and construction industry means we can build more secure homes for homeless youth and fund initiatives that make a difference.
This year, we’re riding towards a $200,000 goal to fund new bedrooms through the Haven Project. Every kilometre clocked helps build a brighter future for young people in crisis. We talked to Ben Wynne, Senior Leasing Executive, GPT, about their commitment to the cause.

Why does GPT believe it’s important to support the Property Industry Foundation?
We truly believe everyone deserves a safe and secure place to call home and we recognise our responsibility to our communities. Systemic change relies on many, and collaborating with the Foundation to drive positive social outcomes through the spaces we influence is ours.
Our partnership with the Property Industry Foundation is built on shared purpose and genuine collaboration. Over the years, we’ve witnessed the incredible impact of the Foundation’s projects and the impact they’ve had on people whose lives they have enriched and helped transform.
Every year, the Tour de PIF in NSW and VIC are key moments. It is really special to bring so many of our staff members together for a great cause and then join our industry peers to deliver a truly incredible event that benefits many.

What stands out each year about the Melbourne Tour de PIF?
Every year we’re struck by the incredible sense of camaraderie and generosity across the industry. Competitors become teammates and businesses that usually compete in the market unite behind a shared mission. The atmosphere is full of energy, optimism and purpose - reminding us of the collective power we have when we come together to help vulnerable young people.
Our fundraising targets are usually met or exceeded - why do you think the industry gives so generously on this day?
Because this cause is close to the heart of our industry. We build places for people to live and work every day, so when we see young people without a home, it resonates deeply. The industry understands that homelessness is not just a social issue, but a community issue we can help address. The generosity we see at the Tour de PIF reflects both compassion and a shared belief that we can be part of the solution.
What are you most looking forward to at this year's event?
We’re looking forward to reconnecting with colleagues, partners and friends across the industry. There’s a special energy at the event that reminds us why we return year after year. And of course, the friendly competition and post-race celebration are always highlights!
Team GPT will again be participating in the various cycling events, with team members putting in plenty of time to train for the event. Our goal is to not only perform well on the day but, more importantly, to lead by example and raise the most money! The property industry is competitive in all aspects so the friendly rivalry between industry peers is always a great addition to the build-up and on the day!
