How many people can attend?
Depending on the size of your chosen boat/ yacht - most can hold between 6-12 guests on board.
The event has an overall capacity of 700 which is in line with the capacity of the venue - Cruising Yacht Club Australia.

Will there be any activities on land?
We will be hosting an exclusive pre race networking lunch and a post race party celebration – all at CYCA.
Entry to all the events are by ticket only and require ALL guests to register on the day and wear a wristband.
Event Day Agenda:
- Register on the day from 11:00am – coffee provided
- Pre-race lunch starts at 12:00pm and concludes at 1:30pm
- Race starts at 2:30pm and finishes at approx.. 4:30pm
- Post-race party starts from 4:30pm and concludes at 7:00pm
How many yachts can participate?
We have capacity to safely coordinate 70 yachts on water for the race at this point in time.
When will registrations open?
Registrations will open Tuesday 22nd October 2024 for the 2025 Property Industry Sydney Charity Regatta.
What if I need help sourcing a yacht?
Your registration to attend the event does not include the yacht charter. Thanks to the Cruising Yacht Club of Australia (CYCA), we have access to some of the world’s best yachts and a select number of exclusive yachts for our event participants.
The owners of these yachts have kindly agreed for the charter fee you pay be a donation to the Foundation.

How much will it cost to enter?
Registration & Entry Fees (incl GST)
- Standard Registration - 6 guests and entry to pre-race lunch, race and post race celebration event starts from $5,500.00
- Race and post-race party package – 6 guests to enter the race and attend the Post-race party starts from $4900.00
- Spectator package – from 10 guests to attend the pre-race lunch, view the race and attend the post-race party starts from $4500.00
- Additional guest + post-race celebration event entry $500.00
- Solo Sailor ticket + post-race celebration event entry $550.00
- Post race celebration event ticket $350.00

How do I get to the CYCA? Is there parking onsite?
The CYCA is located at 1 New Beach Road, Darling Point, next to the scenic Rushcutters Bay Park.
The Club is conveniently close to the city (less than 10 minutes by taxi in non-peak times), airport (less than 25 minutes by taxi) and public transport facilities including buses and trains.
Edgecliff is the closest train station, less than 10 minutes’ walk from the Club, and services on the Eastern Suburbs line run frequently.
Water taxi pick-up and drop off on the marina is available.
There is no onsite parking at the CYCA and the Foundation encourages attendees use taxi or ride share services when travelling to and from the Regatta.
What are the conditions of entry to the CYCA?
Per the Registered Clubs Act, intoxicated guests will not be permitted to enter the venue. This includes the dedicated Regatta event venue space.
All Regatta guests are required to check in at the dedicated registration area upon entry to the venue. All guests will be issued a wrist band which must be worn at all times while on CYCA premises.
Registered Clubs Act
Temporary Members Subject to the Registered Clubs Act, this Constitution and the By-Laws, a person may be admitted as a Temporary member if that person is;
(a) a visitor whose permanent place of residence in New South Wales is not less than a distance of 5 kilometres from the Club;
(b) a Full member of another Club which is registered under the Registered Clubs Act and which has similar objects to those of the Club;
(c) invited by a Committee of the Club or a full member of the Club, and attends on any day at the premises of the Club for the purpose of participating in an organised sport or competition to be conducted by the Club for the duration of that day, or
(d) an interstate or overseas visitor.
Temporary Members shall not be required to pay an entrance fee or annual subscription.
By-law / Constitution
If that person has participated in a sailing regatta ie Wednesday Twilight, they are allowed into the Club under this clause. Clause 2.1(c) reflects this ie they have been invited to compete by a Committee (in this case the Sailing Committee) to participate in an organised competition.
Club Behaviour
Obscene or offensive language and behaviour or intoxication is not acceptable. The Management decision on removal of offending patrons is final. The CYCA is a non-smoking venue.

FEE PAYMENT Your registration is not secure until payment in full has been made. All fees must be paid in full at least 7 days prior to the event. No credits or refunds will be given to cancellations made less than 30 days prior to the event.
EVENT CANCELLATION
- If an attendee/corporate cancel their registration, a full refund will be offered up until 30 days prior to the event. After this no refund will be offered. If the event is cancelled due to weather or other circumstances out of our control, a full refund will be offered up until 30 days prior to the event. After this no refund will be given. If the event is postponed all registration fees will be transferred to the new date.
- If the event is cancelled due to Government restrictions, a full refund will be offered up until 30 days prior to the event. A 50% refund will be given if cancelled between 30 days and 1 day prior to the event, after this no refund will be given. If the event is postponed all rego fees will be transferred to the new date.
PRIVACY I understand that the personal information I have provided in this application is necessary for the conduct of the Regatta and will be handled in accordance with Property Industry Foundation's Privacy Policy, which is available at pif.com.au. Property Industry Foundation will do its utmost to protect the security of my personal information and will not share it with other organisations. I consent to my personal information being used by Property Industry Foundation.
CODE OF CONDUCT
If the event organisers, venue management or security onsite deem the behaviour of anyone at the Regatta, be it, an employee, volunteer, client, and participant to be inappropriate or disrespectful to another person, you will be removed from the event immediately and no refund will be given.
If further action is required because of one’s behaviour at the event, the event manager will enforce security to assist or seek further assistance from law enforcement. All incidents of inappropriate behaviour or disrespectful behaviour will be recorded at the time of incident, and the event organiser and Property Industry Foundation will follow up with those and the company involved.

SAILING INSTRUCTIONS
- Rules:
The regatta will be governed by the 2021-2025 Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS), the prescriptions and special regulations of Australian Sailing, except as any of these are changed by these sailing instructions.
The Race is designated Non-Spinnaker. Only a mainsail and headsails as defined by RRS 50.4 shall be used. Headsails shall not be set flying. No sail shall be set forward of a point of attachment of the permanent forestay.
Entries:
Entries will be accepted for boats that complete the registration with the Property Industry Foundation and lodge a Category 7 (or higher) Equipment Compliance Form with the CYCA Sailing Office- Notices to Competitors:
Notices to competitors will be posted on the Official Notice Board located in the CYCA Clubhouse.
Changes in Sailing Instructions:
Any change to the sailing instructions will be posted on the official notice board before 1100 hours on the day it will take effect. IC Flag “L” will be flown from the Committee Vessel if an amendment has been made.
The Course:
Courses and marks will be detailed in Appendix 1 available after 1000 hours on 10th of March 2025.
- Prohibited Areas:
The following are continuing obstructions and prohibited areas, namely:
1. The area of Sow and Pigs Reef enclosed by an imaginary line joining all four of the Cardinal Marks surrounding the Reef in sequence N, E, S and W.
2. The non safe water side of a Cardinal Mark.
3. The area between the Shark Island AS Mark (SIM) and Shark Island.
4. The Start Line / Finish Line except when starting, finishing. When complying with RRS 44.2 at or near the finishing line a boat shall sail around the ends of the finishing line before finishing. (Amends RRS 28).
5. The area between Shark Island and Shark Island Light (north of Shark Island)
6. Any area enclosed by moorings.
- Shortened Course:
The course may be shortened at any mark in accordance with RRS 32.
- The Start:
Start Signals will be made in accordance with RRS 26 with the following amendments:

Start divisions will be identified numerically. The Class Flags will be the corresponding numeral pennant.
The Warning Signal for the first division will be made at 1325 hours.
The Warning Signal for each succeeding division shall be made with or after the Start Signal of the preceding class.
A boat shall not start later than 10 minutes after its Start Signal.
A boat shall not approach closer than 100 metres to the Start Line until its Preparatory Signal has been made.
The starting line will be between the flag mast of the committee vessel flying a “CYCA” flag and a laid orange inflatable mark to port.
The start line shall be in the vicinity of Point Piper.
- The Finish:
The Finish Line will be between the flag mast of a committee vessel (which may not be the same vessel as the start vessel) and a nearby laid orange inflatable mark.
The finish line shall be in the vicinity of Rushcutters Bay.
- Penalty Turns:
RRS 44.2, Two –Turns shall apply.
- Time Limit:
The time limit shall be 1700 hours. Boats failing to finish within the time limit shall be scored DNF. This amends RRS 35.
- Scoring:
Results will be decided by the application of Time Correction Factors (TCFs) as a multiplier of elapsed time. A boat’s TCF will be determined by the Race Committee or its nominee. The TCF shall not be subject to protest or dispute. The Race Committee may amend the TCF of a boat at any time prior to the Warning Signal where the Race Committee becomes aware of any changes to the boat that may affect its performance. (Amends RRS 60.1 and 62.1)
- Prizes:
Prizes will be awarded at a presentation at CYCA to be held at approximately 1800 hours.
