Scope Projects - Hard Hat Heroes!

18 Sep 2025

Scope Projects have raised over $31,000 through this year’s Hard Hat fundraising campaign – supporting homeless youth with a successful Hard Hat Breakfast, generous donations and a raffle. This impressive result tops last year’s fundraiser and demonstrates how community spirit and teamwork can make a difference.

We talked to Sales and Operations Director Christina Paterson about how Scope Projects has steadily built on a small Hard Hat gathering in 2022, to a large annual event that their entire community gets behind. In just four years, their fundraising tally has tripled!

“We’re proud to continue supporting the Property Industry Foundation and look forward to building on this tradition in the years ahead. The Hard Hat Breakfast reminds us that while the work we do every day is important, the impact we can create together goes far beyond our projects.”

Why did Scope Projects choose Hard Hat Day to fundraise for the Foundation?

Hard Hat Day brings our industry together in a meaningful way. It’s a chance for us to step outside of day-to-day project delivery and focus on something bigger, supporting young people who are doing it tough. As commercial builders, we create places for people to work and thrive, so supporting the Foundation’s mission to provide safe housing for homeless youth feels like a natural extension of what we do.

How has your community come together this year?

This year’s result was a true team effort. From the generosity of our trade partners, to the contributions from Scope’s own employees, everyone pitched in. The breakfast itself was a key driver, with donations up to $31, 804, beating last year’s total.

This is Scope Projects’ 4th annual Hard Hat Breakfast - how has support for the initiative grown over the past 4 years?

Each year, the support has grown stronger. What started as a small gathering has now become an annual tradition our network looks forward to. More partners are getting involved, donations are increasing, and the sense of shared purpose within our community continues to deepen. It’s inspiring to see how much momentum has built in just four years.

What are some of the most memorable moments from this year’s breakfast?

The buzz in the room was incredible; from the excitement around the raffle to the warmth of seeing old friends and colleagues reconnect. A standout moment was announcing the final fundraising total and realising together that we’d topped last year’s figure. That collective sense of pride and achievement really stayed with everyone.

What would you say to those who supported your Hard Hat event this year?

A heartfelt thank you. Every dollar, every raffle ticket, every bit of support makes a real difference. Your generosity is not only helping young people find safe housing but also showing them that this industry cares deeply about their future. We couldn’t do it without you.

Why should the property and construction industry support homeless youth?

As an industry, we build communities. That responsibility doesn’t stop with bricks and mortar, it extends to ensuring that vulnerable young people have the chance to feel safe, supported, and part of a community too. By uniting behind this cause, we can leverage our collective resources and influence to create real, lasting change.

Anything else you’d like to add?

We’re proud to continue supporting the Property Industry Foundation and look forward to building on this tradition in the years ahead. The Hard Hat Breakfast reminds us that while the work we do every day is important, the impact we can create together goes far beyond our projects.

Thank you to all our supporters for your Hard Hat efforts this year – together we raised $31,804
