Welcome to McCormack as the Major Partner of the 2026 Steps for Homeless Youth thank you for your continued commitment to one of the most important events on the property and construction industry calendar in Melbourne..
For McCormack, returning as a major partner was, in their own words, an easy decision. Their involvement isn't simply a matter of corporate generosity — it's a genuine reflection of who they are as a business. Built around a 'Family Built' mindset, McCormack's values place family and community at the heart of everything they do, making their partnership with the Foundation a natural extension of how they operate.
"Coming back as a major sponsor was an easy decision. It's one of the most meaningful events on the industry calendar, bringing people together to drive real impact while strengthening the shared commitment to supporting young people in need."
Lauren McCormack, Director, McCormack
That commitment resonates deeply across their team. Safe, stable housing is the foundation for everything — education, employment, and long-term wellbeing — and McCormack understands this better than most. As a business that delivers built environments, they see a clear responsibility to be part of the solution when it comes to youth homelessness, and Steps for Homeless Youth gives them a direct, practical way to do exactly that.
The impact of events like this extends well beyond the day itself. McCormack recognises that in a relationship-driven sector, bringing multiple organisations together behind a shared cause strengthens collective impact across the entire supply chain. It's about more than fundraising — it's about an industry standing together in acknowledgment of its responsibility to the community it serves.
"Events like this go beyond the build outcome, bringing the industry together to address a real issue in our community... aligning multiple organisations behind a shared responsibility strengthens collective impact and extends support across the entire supply chain: that's where the real value sits."
Danielle Flood, Executive Assistant & Office Manager, McCormack
Numbers are continuing to grow as we get closer to the event, with strong participation across all activities. Lauren McCormack talked a big game last year and delivered with McCormack taking out the 5km women's and relay team... and we look to build on last year’s results. Rumour has it Loz had the team in training camp throughout the summer in preparation, whilst also recruiting potentially the quickest preconstruction manager in the country.
All funds raised through Steps for Homeless Youth go directly toward building homes for young people experiencing homelessness — a cause that sits at the very heart of the Foundation’s mission and one that McCormack has embraced wholeheartedly.
"Safe, stable housing is the foundation for everything... As a business that delivers built environments, we see a clear responsibility to be part of the solution."

To the entire McCormack team — thank you. Your partnership, your energy, and your genuine commitment to making a difference for young Australians experiencing homelessness exemplifies exactly the kind of industry leadership that drives the Foundation's work forward. We look forward to seeing you on the day.
