“By pledging $1,000 per rider, we’re sending a message that every kilometre counts and every dollar raised directly helps change lives. It’s our way of going all in for a cause we genuinely believe in.”
– Chris Doufas, Building Engineering

Building Engineering is backing their team in the upcoming Melbourne Tour de PIF on November 14 by pledging a generous $1000 per rider. With seven riders signed up for the cycling event, they’re donating an initial fundraising amount of $7,000 towards the Foundation’s homeless building projects and other initiatives that make a tangible impact on the lives of homeless youth.

What inspired Building Engineering to get involved with Tour de PIF again this year?
Building Engineering is passionate about supporting initiatives that make a real difference in our communities. The Tour de PIF combines two things we care deeply about: teamwork and giving back. Riding together for the Property Industry Foundation allows us to help create safe and stable housing for young people experiencing homelessness, which aligns with our values of care, community, and connection. It’s a cause that truly resonates with our team, and being part of the event is something we all look forward to each year.
Your team has pledged an incredible $1,000 per rider - what motivated you to make such a generous commitment?
For us, it’s about impact. We wanted our fundraising to reflect the scale of the challenge the Foundation is tackling, and the commitment our riders put in, both in training and on the day. By pledging $1,000 per rider, we’re sending a message that every kilometre counts and every dollar raised directly helps change lives. It’s our way of going all in for a cause we genuinely believe in.
What are you and your team most looking forward to about this year’s ride?

Do you have a message for other companies or riders thinking about getting involved?
Absolutely, do it! It’s an incredible experience that combines fitness, teamwork, and genuine impact. You don’t have to be a pro cyclist to take part; it’s about showing up, giving back, and being part of a community that’s changing lives for young people in need. The sense of achievement and connection you get from the day is something special, we’d encourage every company to get involved.
