Ugly Christmas sweater for a beautiful cause
Walker Corp tenants are striking a pose at a festive photo booth in ugly Christmas sweaters in a holiday season fundraising activity for the Property Industry Foundation.
Expect to see plenty of reindeer jumpers and Santa hats as the participants pose against classic 80s living room backdrops. The activation will be run by Awkward Portraits, a Melbourne-owned company who know how to make people look their worst!
With a sleigh load of silly grins and loud outfits, Walker Corp is showing their support for young people who’ve had a tough start in life.
“The decision to support the Property Industry Foundation in our fundraising endeavours is grounded in our ethos as community placemakers.”
"The decision to support the Property Industry Foundation in our fundraising endeavours is grounded in our ethos as community placemakers. We look forward to participating as a team, but als watching our tenants get involved and embrace their silly side.

Queensland rules the raffle
Every Christmas season, Queenslanders from across the property and construction industry come together for the Property Council of Australia's Christmas Lunch. It is an annual tradition of putting tools and keyboards down to celebrate a hard-working year.
Another tradition held within the Property Council of Australia Christmas Lunch is The Property Industry Foundation annual raffle held throughout the day. Queenslanders have taken great pride in making the most of their opportunities together to be mindful and close the year giving back to homeless youth. Last year's PCA Lunch raised over $56,000 towards the Small Steps for Hannah Foundation to help furnish ‘Hannah’s Sanctuary’ – a new townhouse development in Queensland offering short-term accommodation for victims of family and domestic violence.
SHAPE BINGO
SHAPE Australia are ho-ho-hosting a fun online bingo game for their employees, with all funds raised going towards building projects for homeless youth.
It will be a fun online bingo game hosted by their CEO or Group Executives and accessible to all employees nationally. Players make a donation on our fundraising page, which determines the number of bingo cards they are eligible for (1 for $25, 2 for $50 or 4 for $100), with all proceeds going directly to the Foundation. It works the same as a regular game of bingo. Players are emailed their digital bingo cards. Our game show hosts call the numbers, then first to mark off all the numbers and call 'BINGO', wins! It's that simple.
"We know that every dollar we raise any time of year makes a huge difference in helping to build secure homes and giving young individuals the right opportunities to get their lives back on track. That's what we can be part of."
Kate Evans, Group Executive - People, Brand & Communications
ALD Expert Demo turn budget into bedrooms for the homeless
Last year ALD Expert Demo made an expert move of taking their Christmas Gifts budget and turning it into a $50,000 end-of-year donation to not one but two Haven Projects in Victoria and New South Wales.
National Manager Paul Rosenberg Vella explained that their values are shared amongst the partners and community they do business with, making the decision to end the year by donating vital funds towards projects that support young mums in Victoria and a 19-bed facility in New South Wales a meaningful step to support real change.
“It is our duty within the industry to contribute to this change and work together to reduce these statics especially during this time of year.”

OpenCorp $5K Christmas Gift
A $5000 cheque for homeless youth building projects was presented to Property Industry Foundation Board member Faten Sadik at the OpenCorp Exclusive Client Night on 10 November at Encore, St Kilda.
With a few hundred people in attendance, it was a chance for the group to reflect on their good fortune and find out more about the work of the Foundation.
"Having the ability to donate to the Foundation at an event such as this is a proud moment and we hope this inspires our very fortunate clients to consider their own capacity to give back in the future."
Matthew Lewison, CEO, OpenCorp
AVID's Christmas Gift Drive
AVID Property Group has kicked off a month-long Christmas Gift Drive across their Queensland residential communities, encouraging residents to donate gifts in support of Act for Kids.
From Monday 6 November until Saturday 9 December, Christmas giving trees will be on display at select AVID Queensland communities to encourage residents and locals to donate gifts for children who have experienced or are vulnerable to abuse and neglect.
"We'd encourage anyone who can to purchase a gift and pop it under their local AVID giving tree to help make this holiday season a little brighter for children and families who need it."
Anthony Demiris, AVID Property Group
